Emergers

Emergers

This collection of flies always amazes me. They are small, ugly, and simple, but fish eat them like an hors d’oeuvres before a big meal. For every adult midge and mayfly hatch, there is an emerger that precedes them and they collect by the millions at the surface. When you see the dimple of a trout and not his nose, it’s “Emerger Time.” Identify the color and tie on a DFI emerger and let the party begin!

The bodies of most DFI emergers are constructed of biot or stripped peacock herl; DO NOT pinch the bodies of these flies with forceps. Even though they are cemented, they will still break and unroll. Any fly DFI sells that fails in any way will be replaced at no charge.
