Who said there has to be a hatch to catch fish at the surface? We designed this fly to dredge fish up out of the hatch. This is a gorgeous belly-down bug that can be fished in all water structure, even on a hard riffle at the top of a hole. It's a little like a comparadun and a little like an emerging caddis. We don't know what the fish are keying on when they eat this fly; all we know is that you will bring more fish to the surface than a stick of dynamite!
