Stimulators
Kauffman stimulators are as close to perfect as a fly gets, so DFI made subtle changes to the construction and added some awesome new colors to the body framework. We replaced all wire rib in our stimulator flies with 3lb test clear monofilament; it slides through the palmer hackle without distortion of fibers and it’s as tough as wire when seated in the dubbing. We also equip the stimulators with very sleek slender bodies and use Whiting neck hackle for that beautiful fine, spiraled fiver look so the fish can view the gorgeous silhouette of these flies. We offer this collection of stimulators because DFI is the only outlet for them, but we will custom tie any color stimulator for you if you prefer our construction.
Tan Stimulator
The perfect fly when fish are feeding on that large tan caddis or bright golden stones in larger sizes. You'll love fishing this fly, always bone dry and riding high. Sizes #16, #14, #12, #10. This was our #1 fly on the Metolius River in June, 2010 and has proven deadly in its testing period over a large variety of water.
