Caddis

Really smart fish have seen hundreds of elk hair caddis float over their heads, and at times they become very hesitant to take them. DFI to the rescue with some new caddis patterns to teach the smart fish a lesson in humility. Tie one on in the proper body color of the hatch, and get ready to rumble!

Spruce Moth

$1.95

At some time in late summer while fishing higher elevations, you will have an encounter with this bug.  This tie is a perfect replica of the natural—right down to the orange thorax.  Make sure your fly box has a few of these, because the fish will key on this large meal when the hatch happens. Size 12 only.

Midnight Caddis

Midnight Caddis the absolute perfect sundown to dark caddis fished on sheen water. It has awesome visibility and can be fished aggressively in heavy riffle. This fly was created to match the large black caddis hatch in the high country, but recently it has sparkled on low elevation rivers in twilight hours. It's a party animal after sundown!

Caddidge

Introducing--the "Caddige." It's a brilliant wintertime midge fished in the soft foam lines, and it's a dynamite early-spring, dark caddis. I have seen it land giant fish in both seasons. Tied on a Tiemco #200R hook, it will hold that big guy. Take your time!!! Size #22 only.

Empress Sally

Empress Sally, she's a Movie Star!! This nasty little gal takes a lot of pride in showing off her little pink tail and luring a bunch of big fish up to eat her. This is a fantastic Sally pattern tied on a Tiemco 200R hook #18. Fish her in the hatch or blindly as a searcher, she'll score for you dramatically and often!! This fly is tied and fished in our 2010 video "Tie Magic".

Emperor Series

Our #1 fishing fly for 2009 was the “Emperor” caddis series. We fished this series of flies at all elevations, from May through September and they are truly super flies. We featured the “Emperor” black caddis in a video we shot in the Idaho Wilderness called “Fishing the High Country,” and it took the place of our Black Flying Ant as the #1 fly for alpine lakes. Every place we fished these flies, they put on a show!!!!

"Get Her Done" Series

The “Get Her Done” Caddis Series could be the hottest new patterns on the market today. The days of the elk hair caddis are over once you use this life-like masterpiece. We had phenomenal results in the testing period on these flies and we’ve tied them in all the predominant caddis colors. These flies are a must in your fly box and a game changer on the surface of the water.

Adams Caddis

A gorgeous high-floating fly tied in body colors gray and dark olive with the classic grizzly and brown collar. Fish him in fast water and very aggressively. He floats like a cork and catches fish like a worm.

Bare Belly Caddis

DO NOT be deceived by the innocent look and small size of this fly...it is flat-out nasty. The striated body lays flat in the surface film and the dark elk wing suspends it at nose level to the fish. Tied in brown, dark olive green, or gray.

Fall Caddis

It's a trout magnet in the fall of the year when the fish feel winter coming and they are looking for a big, juicy meal. Blended body dubbing, front tentacles, and high wings, it is the perfect match to the hatch giant caddis. This fly catches every trout in all waters, but especially cut throat.

Gray Hardshell Caddis

Another big, plump caddis with a fat hair body oozing out of a tent wing. The CDC under wing creates that wonderful fuzzy look and the feather stem and hackle dress up the thorax and head. Wow! This dog will hunt!!
